We often incorporate new skincare products to our routine in order to address specific conditions. But we all know that right from getting a new skincare product till getting our skin to love it is exciting and at the same time an intimidating journey. There are a number of questions that run through our head regarding their usage, effectiveness, and so on. We at Foxtale are with you every step of the way (yes, until you fall in love with us!). This is why we've compiled a list of frequently asked questions about all of our products that you frequently ask us. Think of this as a product glossary; your one-stop destination for FAQs about Foxtale products. Foxtale Daily Duet Face Wash Product Description This dual-acting cleanser works as a make-up remover as well! Its hydrating formula cleanses your skin deeply without stripping it of its natural oils, leaving you with naturally glowing skin. Then, lather it up with water, massage into the skin and rinse again to cleanse thoroughly. FAQs Why do I need to cleanse twice? For people that use make-up or the recommended amount of sunscreen in a day or several layers of serums - one cleanse is simply not enough to clean pores thoroughly. This is where a double cleanse comes handy the most! While your pores can’t open or close, they can work as wells that trap oil, grime and residue of sunscreen or make up. In order to prevent breaking out and other skin damage, it is essential to double cleanse. Does that mean this can’t be used as a regular cleanser? While the use for a double cleanse is only an added benefit, this cleanser provides all the benefits of a regular face wash and can be used simply to clean the skin. What is sodium hyaluronate? Why is it good for me? Sodium hyaluronate is a molecule that is derived from Hyaluronic acid. These molecules are so dense that they hydrate the uppermost layers of your skin easily, providing nourishment, conditioning and therefore a strengthened skin barrier over time. Who is this cleanser good for? We know you’ve heard this a thousand times before- but this cleanser really is designed to work on all skin types! It has clarifying ingredients that work gently but sincerely to remove all the day’s grime and the night’s leftover skincare from your skin. It also has hydrating properties that make sure your skin isn’t irritated. Is it safe to use during pregnancy / lactating mothers? This cleanser is made with skin-loving ingredients that are safe and suitable to use for all skin types, including pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. Foxtale Ceramide Supercream Moisturiser Product Description This ceramide-rich formulation protects your skin from environmental irritants while strengthening your skin barrier. Use this hydrating, healing moisturiser every day for nourished and healthy skin. How To Use Take the required amount of moisturiser on hands and dot it all over the face. Massage until it is completely absorbed in the skin. FAQs Is this moisturiser for specific skin types? This moisturiser has a lightweight yet hydrating formula that is suitable for all skin types. What are the key ingredients and how do they work? Ceramides NP, AP & EOP: Create a protective layer that not only locks in moisture but also prevents dryness and irritation. Sodium Hyaluronate: This modification of Hyaluronic Acid is synthesised to sit on the skin for longer, providing a hydrating and conditioning effect. Hydrogenated Olive Oil Unsaponifiables - This lipid derived from Olive Oil is extremely beneficial for dry and sensitive skin. It is believed to be 4x more effective than Squalane in providing hydration and nourishment, due to its broader molecule compatibility with skin. Can this also work as a night cream? Yes! This moisturiser provides ample hydration without feeling too heavy or thick, which makes it suitable for any time of day (or night)! Can this also work as an eye cream? Take a generous amount and apply under your eyes for the effect of an eye cream. How long will this moisturiser keep my skin hydrated? This moisturiser can be used day and night, for deep, and highly effective hydration that lasts anywhere from 8-12 hours. The only time you may need to reapply is when the weather is exceptionally dry! Does fragrance affect redness and irritation on my skin? No, unless you are very sensitive to another ingredient itself, all our fragrances are allergen free and used in quantities of less than 0.4%. Is it safe to use during pregnancy / lactating mothers? A moisturiser like this is made with safe skincare ingredients suitable to use during pregnancy / lactating mothers. Can milia be treated with it? Unfortunately, this cream can only be used as a hydrating and nourishing moisturiser for your under eyes but it cannot treat milia. Brightness, hydration, reducing marks, pigmentation and fine lines - a good sunscreen takes care of them all! It is the easiest way to protect your skin not just from pollution and UV rays, but also sunburns and diseases such as cancer. How often should I reapply sunscreen? While it is recommended that you reapply it at least 2-3 times in a day, it really depends on your activity levels. Sweat and increased sun exposure can break down the actives making the sunscreen work much faster than when you are indoors and at a desk. This means the more your activity and exposure, the more your need to reapply sunscreen. Does this mean I don’t need sunscreen indoors? Light and therefore, harmful UV rays can penetrate glass just as easily as they can penetrate the ozone layer. This means you need sunscreen even when you are indoors. Additionally, blue light emitted by our screens can accelerate signs of skin damage and ageing just as much. That means it is just as essential even if you are sitting with your curtains drawn. Since it is a chemical sunscreen, some active ingredients may not be suitable and safe to use during pregnancy / lactating mothers. Is it sweat / waterproof? No, this sunscreen does not claim to be water resistant. Which skin type should it be used on? This dewy sunscreen has a lotion-like finish that leaves a dewy glow on the skin, making it perfect for normal to dry skin type only. How long does this sunscreen stay on my face? Chemical sunscreens like this one break down in sunlight and must be reapplied after every 3 hours if you're in direct sunlight. Can I use a product with benzoyl peroxide with this sunscreen? This sunscreen is safe to use with all active ingredients including benzoyl peroxide. Is it mineral or chemical based sunscreen? It is a chemical based sunscreen. FAQs Is it safe to use during pregnancy / lactating mothers? Since our Acne Spot Corrector contains actives like Salicylic acid, we do not recommend usage during pregnancy. Do check in with your dermatologist before using any active ingredients during pregnancy. Insufficient quantity To get the results through this acne gel, all you have to do is squeeze out a rice-sized amount of the product and use it on pimples. Wait for it to dry down completely and then apply other products as needed. Which type of acne is it suitable for? The acne spot corrector gel contains powerful actives that help clear dead skin cells and thoroughly clean your pores. It is advisable not to use it right after a chemical peel treatment, rather you can use it the day after. Which serums can I pair with acne gel? As a result, you do not need to apply further treatment based serums, but you can use hydrating and soothing serums to relax your skin and speed up the healing process. Can I use vitamin C and acne gel together? You can use the Foxtale C For Yourself Vitamin C serum along with the acne spot corrector gel. However, make sure to use the vitamin C serum under your moisturiser and the spot corrector over your moisturiser so that they have a barrier in between. Remember to top up with lots of sunscreen after the Vit C application. FAQs How do I store my Vit C Store your Vit C in a cool dry place. You can also put it in your refrigerator to delay preserve its potency. What can cause my Vit C to oxidize? Vitamin C naturally oxidizes when it comes in contact with air, heat and sunlight. Which is why this Vitamin C has been formulated in a creamy base to make it more stable and packaged in an airless pump bottle. My Vit C is not pumping out. What should I do? Step 1 – Flip the bottle upside down Step 2 – Shake the bottle a little. Step 3 – Pump it a few times till the serum dispenses from the bottle. Why is this Vit C in an airless pump? A regular pump causes air to enter the bottle, increasing the rate of oxidation. Airless pump means less need for preservatives in your skincare product. Airless pump helps you get to the very last drop. How do I know if my Vit C has oxidized? You notice a drastic change in colour. There is an unusual odour. The texture is different than the time of purchase. Can I use this at night? Yes, you can use this serum in your morning OR your night routine. Just make sure you are not using Benzoyl Peroxide, Retinol or AHAs/BHAs in the same routine. How do I use Vit C in my routine? If you are a Vit C beginner, use this serum after your face wash and before using a moisturizer. If you have sensitive skin, start by using it 3 times a week and then when your skin gets used to it, use it every day. What is L-Ascorbic acid? L-Ascorbic acid is the purest and most potent form of Vitamin C. While Vitamin C can be found in several forms, this, when applied topically, shows the most effective results. Why do I need Vitamin C? Vitamin C is the answer to all your skin’s queries about brightness, dark spots and sun damage. It is a tried and tested antioxidant that shows the best improvement in your complexion over time. Our users even found a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles over time, whereas others said the Vitamin C made them skip make-up! Can people be sensitive to Vitamin C? Sometimes! Due to its low pH, Vitamin C is highly acidic and can cause a slight tingling sensation for some. It subsides with time. However, if the irritation persists or you see any changes in your skin’s texture or appearance, stop using it immediately! Beginners with very sensitive skin are advised to use Vitamin C 2-3 times a week and build a tolerance, post which it shows the best results when used daily! Vitamin C fights free radical damage. Does using Vitamin C mean I can skip sunscreen? NOPE! Even though it is one of the strongest weapons in your arsenal when fighting sun damage, Vitamin C can make your skin sensitive to the sun. While our Vitamin C is formulated in a way that makes sun sensitivity less likely, it can only be combated fully with a broad spectrum sunscreen, which should be used right after! Will this make my skin tingle? If your skin isn’t used to Vitamin C, the higher concentration in our formula may make your skin tingle slightly. However, it should stop in a few seconds. If it continues to irritate your skin, please stop using it! Why is sunscreen necessary along with Vitamin C? Consider this combination the most effective way to fight free radicals and sun damage. While they work on their own, together, they only enhance each other’s benefits. This is the most sureshot way to see rapid results from both products! As a result, even the encapsulated retinol is not suitable. We do recommend checking in with your dermatologist on pregnancy-related skincare. What is the minimum age limit to start using retinol? The ideal/minimum age to begin utilising retinol is 25 years old. However, you can employ the serum if you feel that your skin's suppleness isn't at its finest or if you start to see wrinkles before the age of 25. Can I use it daily?
